deja bummer....

[rollemfilm]

Seems like we lost our great forum at deja. It's not the same.
I hope Google finds a way to correct the format.
Any comments?

I never made it over there...maybe once....What was it like...what has been lost...according to what I read...they have saved everything and are trying to get it back up and running...

Was that the site with the confusing thread runs...(well, confusing to me)

It's all been saved in a real strange format.
You cannot browse very well. To me anyway, it's like
a mish mash....

there's no indication of how many postings follow each thread, just yet. there were some issues with the deja format but i got accustomed to it after awhile. maybe google will get a handle on it. in the meantime, i'll miss it. there's a veritable throng of knowledgeable and magnanimous super8 afficionados who i now have little idea how to contact. martin baumgarten, clive tobin, steve spicer. andersen wideroe. there was remarkable international exchange.
these people will undoubtedly seek expression elsewhere so we may be gaining some new contributors here. i'll be keeping an eye on the progress of the alt.movies.cinematography.super8 newsgroup, for sure.
